Installation

The installation is divided in 3 main steps:

  • Select the different options.
  • Copy the files.
  • Configure installation.

First of all, we will follow standard setup. You can double click on the setup.exe in the unzipped package.

Enter the installation directory (this will become %INFORMIXDIR%).

Note for IDS v10:
The recommended installation path is now C:\Program Files\IBM\Informix. You can safely use this one.

We need to select the installation method. “Typical” would be fine, but to get a better overview, let’s go to “Custom”.

Note for IDS v10:
You cannot have informix as Informix’ password during the installation. You can change it back to informix afterwards.
